Once again the Autodromo do Algarve, in southern Portugal, has a fantastic (provisional) line up of events for 2010, so get out those diaries that you got for christmas and pencil in some, high octane, motor racing entertainment for you, your family and friends to enjoy. The track will be hosting the SBK world superbike championships, the Le Mans series (which includes a night race), the Ferrari challenge and the popular Algarve historic festival among other events taking place throughout the year at Parkalgar. Algarve - Paderne - Step Back In Time - Take Part In The Medieval Festival

The town and castle of Paderne in Algarve, southern Portugal will once again be turning the clock back 500 years or more for it´s annual medieval festival. If you are looking for real culture and entertainment for both you and the kids then this is as real and as fun as it gets. Step back in time and into the world of the middle ages. Located within the town and the castle walls, you will be transported back to life under the rule of the Moors, with jousting tournaments, sword fighting, traditional games, Jesters, street entertainment, fire jugglers, barbarians, musicians and belly dancing maidens, medieval crafts stalls and other traditional shows. Cycling in Algarve - Mountain Biking Competition In Messines

Here´s one for the keen cyclists out there in Algarve. On the 10th of October there will be the chance to take part in a cycling competition with 3 trails of 25km, 50km and 80km. So if you are as fit as a butchers dog, or would like to get that way, why not head to the central Algarve and meet at the EB 2, 3 SB Messines school at 7.00am for an 8.30 start. GP2 In Portimao, Algarve - Come And See Major Motorsport In Portugal

Here´s one for the petrolheads out there, GP2, the feeder series for Formula One is coming to Portimao, Algarve, southern Portugal for the weekend of the 18th - 20th of September 2009 at the new Autodromo Track just between Portimao and Lagos. These cars really are the real deal, the engines are designed by Renault and the cars are capable of reaching the same speeds of some F1 cars. The series offers great entertainment wherever they race. The concept is quite simple. All of the 26 cars are identical, they have no traction controll or power steering, pitstops are compulsory and they operate a reverse grid policy so the racing is always competitive and very entertaining. Mamma Mia - ABBA Gold Playing in Vila Sol, Algarve

Audi Med Cup Sail Racing Comes To Portimao - Algarve

Portimao marina, Algarve, southern Portugal, is once again playing host to the Audi Med Cup, the champions league of sailing, from the 18th to the 23rd of August. This really is a top class event with two classes of boat, the 42 footers and the 52 footers, competing at close quarters out on the water. A total of 19 teams will be doing battle in some of the fastest sailing machines in the world, helmed by some of the best skippers on the planet. There is lots to do and see in and around Portimao marina, with exhibition areas, race village, shoreside fun and games, and giant screens so that you won´t even get your shoes wet. Algarve - Loule - Noite Branca - An All White Night Out

Yes it´s that time of year again. Loule, just north of Faro, is hosting it´s “Noite Branca” end of summer party on Saturday, 29th of August. Based on the original concept from Paris, the entire town, shops, streets and the people too are all dressed in white. This event was first held in Loule in 2007 and was hugely popular. The following year was even more of a success, so get out some white clothes and head the biggest chill-out party in Portugal. You will find 50 plus street entertainers including mime statues (dressed in white of course), fire jugglers, stilt walkers, musicians, toga wearing beauties, snow queens, bands and DJ´s till late. Dont Miss The Super Bock Surf Fest - Algarve - Sagres

Why not pack an overnight bag and a tent this Thursday, the 13th of August 2009 and jump in the car and head for Sagres, Algarve, southern Portugal? The Super Bock Surf Fest is taking place on Pria do Tonel, Sagres on Thursday and Friday with a great musical line up. This is the place to be, with 15 artists including Nitin Sawhney, Asian Dub Foundation, João Maria, 2 Many DJs, Easy Star All Stars, and Ziggi. All in all, this fest has a reggae bias. Entrance is super douper, super bock, good value with day tickets costing 25 Euro each and a two day pass costing you 40 Euro. According to Windguru, wave predictions are only around the one metre mark so it looks like you won´t be missing too much in the way of surfing.
