Tonight, 25th July 2009, will see Aswad headlining at the The Al’Buhera Festival on fishermans beach in Albufeira from 10.30. This concert is free so why not get your dancing shoes on and head down there. The Al’Buhera Festival is an entirely different kind of event, offering you 5 nights of great cultural enrichment. A multicultural city like Albufeira fully deserves a festival of this nature – a handicraft fair with more than 50 stallholders, regional confectionery and gastronomy from other countries, all help to make this festival even more appealing. Avenida Sá Carneiro will also be the setting for street entertainment every night from 20.00 to midnight.

That´s right, the hugely talented Joss Stone is playing in Loule next Friday the 31st of July at the Duarte Pacheco Monument. Things start at 10.00pm and tickets are 25 and 30 Euro, available from FNAC, Worten, Agencias Abreu and ticketline. This event is one of the highlights of the summer.

Dont forget that it´s the 28th bike fest in Faro, This weekend, starting on Thursday 16th July and finishing on Sunday the 19th. Loads to do and see. Four days of biker fun, festivites, parties, stalls and concerts. Performances by Europe, Children of the dammed, Hora Zulu, David Fonseca, Tara Perdida, Loquillo, St Dominic´s and Fatal Smile. Windsurfing In Algarve, Iberian tour comes to Lagos

The Iberian circuit windsurfing tour is back in the Algarve this weekend (18 - 19 July 2009), off of Meia Praia beach, Lagos.
Officially recognised by the Spanish and Portuguese Windsurfing Federations, this circuit is considered to be the sport’s top competition in the Iberia Peninsula. It is certainly an event that has one of the highest numbers of participants, every year bringing new competitors and fans of this sport to the Algarve.

The three events held in the Algarve this year, of which this is the second, are all able to take advantage of the region’s exceptionally favourable conditions for windsurfing and extreme sports in general.

The biggest event devoted to the Portuguese water dog will be taking place in Olhão on 18th and 19th July. So find out more here with a short video showing these dogs training in the sea…

Whatever else you do during the week of the 10th - 15th of August make sure that you spend a night at the 14th Festival do Marisco in Olhao, just east of Faro. This seafood festival is one of the regions highlights and takes place in the Jardim do Pescador Olhanese on the seafront.
