Come See Motorsport in Algarve - 2010 Schedule

Once again the Autodromo do Algarve, in southern Portugal, has a fantastic (provisional) line up of events for 2010, so get out those diaries that you got for christmas and pencil in some, high octane, motor racing entertainment for you, your family and friends to enjoy.
The track will be hosting the SBK world superbike championships, the Le Mans series (which includes a night race), the Ferrari challenge and the popular Algarve historic festival among other events taking place throughout the year at Parkalgar.
So, if you are a motorsport petrolhead and fancy doing your ears some damage we have put together a list of race days and video guides just for you…..

Today more than ever, Superbike represents one of the most electrifying and energetic displays of modern motorcycle racing.

The Portuguese Touring Car Championship, has amassed a number of interesting participants and partners and maintains its position as one of the most competitive national championships today.

International Ferrari Challenge
Privateers have played an important role in Ferrari’s racing activities from the very earliest days of the marquee. Ferrari continued this tradition in 1993 with the creation of the Ferrari Challenge, a racing series designed to allow Ferrari owners to compete on some of the world’s greatest racing tracks. Experience the power and excitement of the newest Ferrari Challenge racer, the purpose-built Ferrari F430 Challenge
And now you can see this event at the Autodromo International Algarve.
Formula 3000
An Italian national series of Formula 3000 started in 2005 with the arrival of the GP2 Series, but has now been merged with Euroseries 3000, running both B02/50 and B99/50 cars. As of 2010, it is renamed AutoGP, using old A1GP cars and engines in place of F3000 regulations.

WTCC- World Touring Car Championship

The World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) is an international Touring Car championship organized by the FIA.

The series is heavily supported by car manufacturers SEAT, BMW, Chevrolet and Lada with special apperances from Honda and Volvo.

Le Mans Series (Day - Night race)

Le Mans Series

Head down to your local chemist and buy some ear-plugs and some caffine tablets. Your going to need them.
The Le Mans series racing is rolling into town again and it´s a night race on Saturday night, all 1000 KM of it. Head over to the official Le Mans Series website for more information.

The Vodafone/ Speed Open Championship

A time charged with adrenaline and national pride, a great opportunity to check out the best Portuguese Motor bikers in a single event. Watch different classes in action, such as the leading categories, the Stocksport 1000cc and the Stocksport 600. Racing for the national trophies will be pure non-stop emotion, whether in the PromoCup, which is accessible to amateur drivers, or the Troféu 85 and the Copa Cool, a race designed for under 18s, or the Classic Cycles Trophy. Don’t miss it!

Aston Martin has confirmed that it will be represented by two teams in the new FIA GT1 World Championship in 2010. Teams Hexis AMR and Young Driver AMR have applied for entry and each plan to run two Aston Martin DBR9s in the championship.

With 16 races in 12 categories, involving 250 cars and 300 drivers, taking place in this fantastic event over this weekend. Come and see ex formula one drivers racing these increadible machines.
