The town and castle of Paderne in Algarve, southern Portugal will once again be turning the clock back 500 years or more for it´s annual medieval festival. If you are looking for real culture and entertainment for both you and the kids then this is as real and as fun as it gets.

Step back in time and into the world of the middle ages. Located within the town and the castle walls, you will be transported back to life under the rule of the Moors, with jousting tournaments, sword fighting, traditional games, Jesters, street entertainment, fire jugglers, barbarians, musicians and belly dancing maidens, medieval crafts stalls and other traditional shows. Food and drink are aplenty too.

This is real history brought to life.

The castle acts as a perfect backdrop for this event . The festival takes place between the 1st and 3rd of January 2010, so see you in the middle ages.
